Auto Backups

UseOpenClaw automatically creates snapshots of your entire bot instance on a daily basis. These are full server-level backups — you don’t need to configure anything or remember to back up manually.

Where to Find Your Backups

From your bot’s page on the UseOpenClaw platform:

1. Click the Status button (Activity icon) in the action bar
2. Click View Backups

You’ll see a list of all your snapshots, each showing its type (Auto Daily, Auto Weekly, Manual, etc.) and when it was created.

How It Works

Your bot runs on its own dedicated server. Every day, UseOpenClaw takes a snapshot of the entire server — this captures everything: your bot’s configuration, conversations, memory, installed skills, and all associated data.

Backups run automatically in the background at a set hour each day. You don’t need to trigger them.

What Each Plan Includes

The number of backup snapshots retained depends on your plan:

• Daily backups run once per day at your configured hour
• Weekly backups (Max plan only) run every Sunday at 03:00 UTC, giving you longer-term recovery points

Retention

When a new backup is created and your plan’s snapshot limit is reached, the oldest backup is automatically removed to make room. For example, on the Free plan, each new daily backup replaces the previous one. On the Pro plan, you always have the 3 most recent daily snapshots available.

Restoring from a Backup
